HOORAY for Brielle!

More for myself than anything I wanted to make a quick update on how Brielle is doing this week being potty trained. She is absolutely amazing and has grown up leaps and bounds this week. It sort of makes me sad. With the new haircut and panties it feels like she is way older! Today she has actually started telling me that she needs to go potty or runs to the bathroom and can go by herself!! She has stayed dry with no accidents for 2 days. I am so proud of her and she is so pleased you can tell!!! She is the cutest little thing and I love her so much! I just wish she would stay little longer!!!

Congratulations Kari!!

My friend Kari got married on Saturday. It was a great wedding, she looked so beautiful! The kids had such a fun time dancing and playing with the other kids! Brielle was a wild woman, she was just running around dancing and screaming!! She fit right in with all the other guests! Kari had her brother and dad's band play and they were really good and everyone was having a lot of fun!

We love you Kari and Mike!!! We wish you all the best and happiness in your new life together!

oh no here we go!!

So this is sortof unexpected but the last 2 days Brielle has decided that diapers are not a necessity. She has been taking them off and streaking around my house. So after todays nap I decided to give this potty training thing a try. I could hear her in her room and when I went to get her she was standing there naked bumb and all. She said "POTTY!" I said OK and we hurried her off- she actually peed in the potty!!! We were so happy we did a little potty dance and immediately got candy to celebrate. So the rest of my day has been more of the same with a few accidents here and there.

New Haircuts!

I took the girls to my cousin Tiffany today to get their hair cut. She always does such a cute job, not only cutting their hair but styling it! Too bad her kids don't have any hair (sorry Tiffany!)!!! I took some pictures after the kids had already played at the McDonald's playland so they are kindof messy but they are too cute!

Private blogs....

OK so I've noticed a lot of people putting maps on your site that keep track of where people are from that are visiting your site. I notice a lot of them (including mine) have locations that I don't know anyone. Should I be concerned that people from all over the country are looking at my blog??? I love to visit other blogs that link from other peoples blogs and I don't know them but I don't mean any harm (obviously) What are the risks of having my blog open to anyone???

A lot of my friends/family are going private--- should I???

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! We had a great Easter with the kids! Friday morning we had a neighborhood easter egg hunt with the kids friends! Saturday morning we went with the entire population of West Jordan to the annual WJ easter egg mahem . I could not believe how many people were there. We went to the area just for kids 1-3 and we almost got trampled!! people were pushing inbetween me and my kids I thought I could loose them - it wasn't all that fun! Sunday we had a really great relaxed morning with the kids hunting for eggs and baskets and eating lots and lots of candy!! Then we went to church and then the Jones' for their easter egg braul! Of course it never is the same unless someone ends up crying or beat up! When you have older cousins and little kids its never a good mix!

Disney Princesses on Ice!

"Oh I wish, I wish, the show would start!!"
Princesses!!

Intermission treats!
Katie's favorite part of the show was Cinderella and her prince Charming!
Brielle's favorite part of the show was Minnie and Mickey Mouse!

Katie has been counting down the days to Disney Princess Wishes! She was so excited she woke up at 7:30 this morning (which is early for her) and wanted to put the Cinderella dress on right then. Both the girls loved to take the train into downtown and absolutely LOVED the show!! Brielle clapped for all the princesses and Katie just kept saying "WOW, mom there they are!!"

I love to see my kids happy and today was a great day!!

Flash back Friday!

I look at this picture and I don't think "Oh, how cute!" I think:
"WHY DIDNT I STOP IT THEN?!"
Katie has sucked her fingers since she was 3 months old. I used to think it was good because I didnt have to worry about binky's, she always could soothe herself to sleep. But now...
we did try the binki but she always like the fingers more!
Here she is at 2- still pretty cute I guess (wasn't she so little??)
This is Brielle's age now and I can't believe how little Katie seems!
Here she is at 3- I realized that I don't actually have a lot of pictures of her sucking her fingers because I am constantly telling her to get her fingers out of her mouth for the picture. But she has them in her month 24 hours a day, even when playing, eating, talking etc.... its bad!!!
And here is she is at 4- just this month. Notice that she doesnt even bother to take them out even when laughing!! She has gotten worse but we are really trying to stop it! ANY IDEAS?????

I am absolutely amazed at how wonderful the entire experience has been for them and how great Carter has fit in with their family. He really was meant to be here and he couldnt be more lucky!!!

We love you guys!

Water for FREE anyone?

Today was a beautiful spring day so we went on a walk with Katie and some of her friends around the block. At the bottom of our street some young girls were selling lemonade. The girls all really wanted some so of course we hurried home, got some change and returned to purchase the delicious lemonade!! (each girl had 2 full glasses) it must have been Delicious!!!

As we were walking home the girls had this conversation:

Addison: Wasn't that good lemonade?
Brielle: lebonabe
Maren: I'm still thirsty
how can that be???
Addison: Jami, when we get home can we sell some water?
Katie: ya!!
Addison: Water is better because lemonade is too hard to make and instead of charging people we can just give it out for free then people will want it!!
Addison is definitely the entrepreneur of the group!

I don't know if their water stand was a huge hit but I sure got served a lot of glasses of water!!

Here are some pictures of the fun we had today in the nice spring weather!

Here's my Brielle covered in sand! Isnt she just the cutest thing!!

Did I give birth to twins???

Katie and Brielle both had Dr's appointments today. I knew that they were getting close in weight just by picking them both up but today it was confirmed... Katie(28lb) only weighs 1/2 pound heaver than Brielle(27.5lb) That little monkey is going to bypase big sister in no time!!!

Conversation in the Dr's office:
Dr: Who would like to go first?
Katie: Well Brielle just told me she really wanted to!
Dr: OK, how are you doing Brielle?
Katie: She really wants some shots, and a sticker!
Brielle: NOOOOOOOOO! (and the crying/screaming starts)
Thanks Katie!!
Luckily she really didnt have to have any shots so we were lucky! And the nice Dr. still gave her a sticker!

Tag Tag Bo Bag- My Favorite Indulgences

My Sister-in-law Holly tagged me with this fun tag....

Whenever Oprah does her ‘Favorite Things’ show, I am always curious about the things she chooses and why. Tell me if money were not an issue and you wanted to load up a basket of your most ‘Favorite Things’ and give it to your friends, what would you choose and why? It can be something simple, like the type of pen you use or something big like the type of car you drive. I will list my ‘Things’ and then I will tag a few of you to do the same thing. Here they are in no particular order...

1) Chi Flat Iron- Well worth the money!!!

I love this flat iron. I use it everyday and it is fantastic!!!

2) Kirby Vacuum- we really splurged on this one. But the salesman came around when I was pregnant and nesting and I was really wanting to have my house be free of pet hair. This vacuum has been the best investment. I like it a lot better than a Dyson. (I have my sisters old Dyson that she left here and they are nice don't get me wrong!)

3) Bare Minerals Makeup- I love it!!! My face feels light and clean even
with makeup on and it stays on all day and looks the same at night as when I first applied it!

4) Modbe Swimsuit- I haven't actually bought one yet but I am going to for this summer. They have the cutest styles and flatter lots of different body types while being modest. And I have heard the fabric keeps up really well and you don't get those little balls on it. (know what I mean??)
5) Guitar Hero III Wii- This game is so much fun and I have actually gotten pretty good at it. I can do hard level and have even gotten a few 5 stars!!
(i know this is a really flattering picture!)

I tag Megan, Tiffany, and Natalie!!!

Preschool is cool!!!

I am really lucky that I get to teach a joyschool preschool for Katie and her cute friends! Myself and 3 other moms trade weeks teaching and the kids get a long so well it really is a lot of fun! I captured some pictures today of the girls playing some Nursery Rhyme games.

Winter makes a comeback!

So we had some really nice spring weather last week but then it snowed again (on Saturday). My kids have been dying to go outside but it is freezing out there. So yesterday we played the Wii and the girls had so much fun boxing each other. I was cracking up how much they got into it!! I should have done a video instead of still pictures because it just doesnt capture the moment!

Things I want to learn

My sister in law's post inspired me to think about things I might like to learn to do or classes I want to take. http://tylerhollyellalily.blogspot.com

While Holly is much funnier than I am (and can be because she is already so amazingly talented!!!)... I really seriously would like to find some hobbies I enjoy or things I am really good at.

1. Join a book club so that I can have a reason and an inspiration to read good books. I really am not a big reader but I do enjoy books. I just seem to prioritize wrong and end up watching TV instead!

2. Sewing- same as everyone I guess. But I have made some pillowcases! I own a sewing maching and have not really used it so it would be fun to make cute things!

3. Digital scrapbooking (photoshop)- I downloaded a free version (which just expired) and I couldnt figure it out for the life of me! I see how cute some friends of mine digital scrapbooks are and I think it would be fun and much easier than dragging out all the endless supplies!

4. Singing Lessons- I have always loved to sing and some people have told me I have a nice voice but I have never gotten any sort of lessons, I think it would be good to develop that talent a little more.

5. Home decorating/organizing- wow I am so inadequate in this area. I really want to learn some basics for decorating and organizing my house! So my friends dont have to always come and decorate for me (THANKS JEN!!!)

6. Insitute class- who doesnt need some more spiritual inspiration???

Bruiser!!

I officially win the award for the best mom this week! On Tuesday Katie had a friend over to play and Katie after a while started getting whiny(which isn't that unusual!!) So I asked her to clean up some toys out of the bounce house so we could turn it off and she started crying and was being uncooperative. So I tossed her into the bounce house and she started screaming and I promptly sent her to her room!!! I sent her friend home, fed Brielle a snack and about a half an hour later checked on Katie in her room. Low and behold she had a black eye!! I said: "What happened??" and she told me that as I tossed her into the bounce house, her and Brielle bonked heads! I just thought she was crying because I was making her help! I guess I could have been a little less mean!! Lesson learned!

Happy Birthday AMY!!

Happy Birthday to my sister Amy! We miss you, and hope you are having a great day!!!
