Good-bye Amy and Michael

Last night we went up to my Mom's house and said good-bye to Amy and Michael- they left really early this morning to go back to Texas!! It was nice to have them here although it seemed too short and we hardly got to see them!!! Of course when they lived in Clinton we probably saw them just as often (ha ha love ya Amy!!)

We had a lot of fun this weekend! Friday Breanna my niece had her 6th Birthday party. Her birthday is actually on the 4th of July but instead of competing with the birth of our nation she opted to have her party early! The girls had so much fun, they love Breanna!

Then on Saturday I went and got a pool for the kids and they had a blast playing in the water all day!! Greg and some of our awsome neighbors moved the rest of those HUGE rocks!! Ya we are all done moving them and Greg survived without a broken back! Then we went out to Dinner with the Jones' for cute little Megans 1st Birthday!! I can't believe she is 1 already! Time flies and she is the cutest little thing! HaPPy BiRThDAy!

Summer time is a great time to BBQ!

The last two nights we have had BBQ's at our house. I love summer BBQ's and could eat hamburgers, steaks, hotdogs... etc... all summer long!

2 nights ago we invited Andrea Childs and her family and the Paris' over for a BBQ. Cute Andrea has been home alone with the kids now for a month and will soon be moving to Maine to be reunited with Britton. We had a lot of fun with them, her kids are adorable and so much fun!!! Thanks for a fun evening and we are going to miss you when you leave!!!

Last night we had Amy (my sister) and Michael (bro-in-law) and Mom and Grandma over for dinner. My sister is in town from Texas until Sunday. We miss them and loved spending some time with them. It is hard having family move so far away but we are glad that they like it there and hope they move close one of these days!

Water Park Fun

Our ward did an acitivity at this fun little water park in Herriman yesterday. The girls had fun but had to be bribed to get wet. All the kids had more fun running up and down this hill next to the park than actually playing at the park. Next activity we are just finding a big hill somewhere!

Katie loves her friend Ethan, since he moved she asks about him all the time. We are glad he came to the waterpark with us! I'm just going to have to keep my eye on these two!

Bad news- taken well by all but me!

I'm sorry to report that our little baby duck (aka Melody Jumper) is no longer with us. Its really sad actually- with the hot hot day we had on Saturday he sandwiched himself up next to the house and just got too hot we think. I felt horrible and was really not looking forward to telling the kids so we called them into the living room and said "Girls, I'm really sorry but ..."
Here is where the water works started- No, not the girls- ME!!! I don't know what happened but I must be highly emotional and I just started crying!!!
Greg asked if I needed to leave the room for a minute but I said no I'm OK- and we told the girls the news- we'll they sort of looked at me like I was an idiot and said "OK- can we watch our movie now" I felt really dumb for getting all worked up after the kids seemed to really not care too much. They seemed more interested in where we would bury him and Katie and I had a good talk about Melody's spirit being with Flounder(who was our pet bunny that died a few months ago) and Heavenly Father of course- I really need to stop getting animals that keep dying! My poor kids- or should I say poor ME!!!

I think we found our Mommy Duck

overheard:

Katie: "OK little duck you can play over there for a minute, but when I say Quack, Quack, Quack- you better come waddling back!"

Are you my mother?

Today we went swimming at Greg's moms and found a new friend. As we were swimming some of the kids noticed a little baby duck that was all alone. There was no mother or other ducks around. Greg was just saying the other day that he really wanted a duck so I guess it was fate! Greg likes to raise poor little abandoned animals. When we were first married a little bird fell out of its nest by our door and Greg fed it and nursed it (after a little persuasion from me!) until it was a healthy grown bird and that bird loved Greg!! It would follow him around the apartment chirping. We finally had to let it go at a local park and for weeks until winter came the bird would fly down out of the trees when we came to visit and land on Greg's shoulder and follow us down the park trails. People would laugh and wonder how in the heck we were getting this bird to follow us!

So here we go again!!! Katie says its name is "Melody Jumper" because it likes to jump a lot.

We'll keep you updated on the progress until one of our neighbors complains and the duck ends up at a park somewhere! Or it gets eaten by Hunter!

Sometimes I look at my life and wonder how I deserve to have such a great family and life! I never imagined I would be happily married with 2 beautiful children!

3- He is loving and affectionate to me and I never wonder how he feels about me!
4- He is a visionary and can dream up the best ideas
5- He is very talented and can build or do almost anything he wants
6- HE IS THE BEST DADDY!!!
7- He is so great with the girls and loves to play with them
8- I love that he is a worthy priesthood holder and desires to do the right things
9- He is kind, loving, and a nice guy. He never gets angry or yells EVER!

There are many many other things that I could mention but most of all I just love who he is!!! Thanks for the last 8 years we have been married and the last 11 years we have known each other! I can't wait to see what our lives become together!

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and father-in-law
and especially to the Dad of my 2 beautiful children!!

The way to Greg's heart is through his stomach:
Today was a very fun day. The girls and I woke up and made Greg some yummy raspberry/banana pancakes! And I made him his favorite treat... Raspberry Pie! (I didnt get a picture before Greg ate half the pie)

After church my Dad and Wilson came over for a BBQ. We just hung out, ate good food (If I don't say so myself since I was the cook!!!) and them played some hardcore games of Guitar Hero. My brother got GH for christmas last year and I played it for the very first time at my dad's house and was hooked!! I had to buy it for myself and I have gotten pretty good (only because I was addicted for several weeks) But I was looking forward to playing Wilson because he was really really good! And I actually beat him!!! He claims it was because he hadn't been playing it for a long time. We'll just have to have a rematch!

Our Saturday

Saturday my Grandma's sorority (yes they have these for older women!! haha) did a Grandmothers Day Carnival luncheon. It was held at this really nice country club in Farmington. The girls really loved the clown that came to entertain and getting their faces painted. It was a really fun day! WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA!!!!

When me and the girls got home from Farmington Greg was of course working in the backyard!! He (sometimes we!) have been slaving away back there for the last 2 weeks trying to get it done for me! He has done such a great job though and it is finally getting close to being done. The girls had a lot of fun running through the sprinklers!

SMORES ANYONE???
We finally got the firepit working after much tribulation for Greg. He had been trying to find a regulator for our propaine tank that would work for a few days and finally at 9:00 Saturday night he got one and so even though the girls were in bed we decided to fire it up and roast up some mallows! And of course the Paris' didnt want to miss out. They have taught us the best recipee for the yummiest Smores: Marshmallows roasted to perfection ! Instead of putting them on boring old graham crackers and chocolate, you use Nabisco fudge stripe cookies! the chocolate on the cookies is just enough and it melts so perfectly!!! YUMMY!!!
I love the firepit because it really makes me feel like camping and I have such good memories of camping, it is very relaxing and fun for me! Now I can enjoy it as much as I want!

I do hair!

Poor Brielle- I hardly ever spend time to do her hair. But today I thought I would try something different. I actually came up with this on my own but there is a really cute blog called shedoeshair.blogspot.com that has tons of ideas on how to do girls hair.

I thought she looked so cute! Here are some very non professional pictures!

Instructions: I just did little pony tails for the top that I seperated and then pulled them under and then tightened. Then for the back I pulled the pony tail through but on up instead of under (does any of this make sense???)-

Sorry for not posting for awhile... I'm sure you have all been sitting at your computer just waiting for me to tell you about my most boring life!!! ha ha well.... I'm going to tell you about my week whether or not you want to read about it or not!

Tuesday June 3: Took the kids to the children's museum with Addison Paris' preschool class. We used to have a membership to the Museum but it lapsed a while ago so we haven't gone. I miss it... the kids love it there and could spend all day! Thanks for inviting us Jen! We also had Wilson's bday party (see previous post)

This picture of Addison and Katie makes me laugh because since Katie was born Addison has been carrying her around, but now that they are older it looks like so much fun!!!

Thursday June 5: Addison had her preschool graduation which we HAD to attend (is she one of my children????) We love her like she is one of our own and my kids call her "sister" or "brother"(thats another post I'll have to do later!)
what??? Katie is on Addison's back??? that never happens-- ha ha

Happy Birthday little brother!

Today is Wilson's 17th Birthday. We had a fun BBQ at Ruth's house. Dad was there as well as Jim and his son Dylan. The girls wanted to swim so bad that despite the coldish night we let them get in but then Brielle was so cold we wrapped her up in a blanket, she is so cute! We love Wilson and were glad to be able to spend some time with him on his Birhtday. Dad and him are leaving Thursday for a fun rivertrip male bonding thing- have fun!!! Love ya Wilson!
