I've been having some issues with Brielle lately regarding potty training and I need suggestions before I GO CRaZy!!!
She was totally potty trained at just over 2 and she was so excited to do it otherwise I would have waited until now to even start. But since going to Disneyland in May she has had at least 1 accident a day (sometimes we are lucky and there are 2-3). She is getting so bad now that she doesnt even tell me when she has accidents and she just keeps doing whatever she was doing. When I ask her if she went potty- she says "NO". She doesnt care when I put in her in a diaper. She will pee like 2 minutes after being on the potty!
Please HELP ME!!!! Any suggestions or people who have battled this. Should I just throw away all my hard work in the last 6 months and put her back in diapers, or is that a bad idea? Do I disipline her when she has accidents? Reward her when she goes?

I struggled with 2 out of 3!!! What ended up working for me was a reward chart. I would start out with a couple of times (we made boxes and let the girls pick out stickers and each time they went potty they could put a sticker in the box), and at the end of the row of boxes there was a big smile face and they would get a prize. I would make 1 row have 3 boxes and the next have 4 boxes and so on so that they had to keep going more and more times to earn a prize. We put all of the prizes in a treasure basket and kept it in the bathroom so that they could always see it. It worked for us, but every child is different!!!!

there, there's the whole address.. if you copy and paste, I had to seperate them to make it all fit, so make sure there are no spaces.
So, here is a DRASTIC measure, but sometimes we grasp for anything.
Samuel, my almost 5 year old (THAT's RIGHT...5!!)does not want to use the toilet. He pee's 4-5 times a day and lies to me and says that he was washing his hands and dripped on his pants...WHATEVER!!! He was potty trained with no issues until Maine!
So, I made him go naked (no underwear or anything) for 2 days. He didn't have anywhere to pee but on the floor..no underwear no diaper NOTHING! Well...he didn't like peeing on the floor cuz that ment clean up duty. This very drastic measure paid off and I am proud to say we are doing SOOOO MUCH BETTER!
(Jami..if this makes you feel better, Sescily throws the toilet paper roll at me cuz she refuses to pee in the toilet!)
Good luck! Let me know of the progress.
Jami, the last comment is what I've heard works. Let them be naked for a day (or two, but usually not necessary). They have to clean up after themselves. Also, they cannot feel your frustration. It is what it is. It is all on them and their success or failure means nothing to you (easier said than done!). I've heard they usually get it within 5 hours. Oh, also, lots of sugary treats (stimulates urine) and drinks. I have no idea if this will help. Love, wendy
thanks guys! This is all great advice. I definetly need to work on not allowing her to see my frustration!!! I think I will try the naked thing- we'll see how it works!
Jami ... you just killed my motivation!!! =) I was just psyching myself up to start potty training Masey and you brought back all the memories of how hard it is!!! =) Let me know how the naked thing works out ...
Okay-we sort of had this similar problem with Brynn, (peeing her pants, not telling, just plain not making it to the toilet) and she ended up having a bladder infection (which is very common when potty training, because they try and hold it in while they are playing). Anyway, your pediatrician can test it very easily (she tests her pee with a strip) Easy-peasy. Brynn was on antibiotics and now she has no accidents-ever! (Does she ever say her tummy hurts?) Just an idea-check it out!
