Don't get me started

Katie has had the BEST kindergarten teacher this year. This was Miss Warner's first year teaching and she was absolutely amazing! Katie just LOVES her and even when I had my doubts before school started, Katie was always sure she wanted to be in her class and I am so glad that I kept her there. Now that the school year is over, I am realizing that I am really sad about it. Katie LOVES to go to school and I feel like I get the best of both worlds because she is learning and having so much fun but she is home nearly the entire day (after 11:15) and we have been able to still do so many fun things this year. I am worried about her going to 1st grade next year and being at school longer in the day than she is with me =( And I hope we get as good of a teacher! But enough about that... I can feel the tears coming!
funny note about above picture, Katie insisted on wearing the same outfit as the first day of school. I don't think she has worn the same thing all year. Too funny
Miss Warner put on a end of year program today and the kids sang some songs and displayed work they had done throughout the year. It was so dang cute! I can't believe the amount of work she had put into everything this year, she gave us a folder with lots of their work and cute diplomas to keep that were beyond adorable. Thanks for a GREAT year Miss Warner!
Katie wanted to do something for Miss Warner so today we went and bought a terracotta pot and she painted it all by herself and we found this flower (notice the inside of the flower looks like a heart!) Katie is so excited to give it to Miss Warner tomorrow, I'm sure she will love it!

Coyote Pride

Today was Katie's award ceremony for Coyote Pride. To achieve this award she had to pass off certain tasks like skipping, tying her shoes, knowing all her letters, her address etc...(theres a list of about 10-15 things)
She also got the Honor Roll for all of the quarters this year.

Harmony Road piano recital

Both girls had their piano recital on Saturday Morning.
Brielle played "Hot Cross Buns" and Katie played "Following the Leader".
I have been so amazed at how much each of them have learned. Katie is playing with both hands and can play really well. Brielle was "shy" and didnt want to go on stage at first but she did go up and even played her solo piece! I'm so proud of both of them for developing their talents and being so brave to perform infront of people. =)
If I can figure out how to edit the videos and post them I will... but until then here is a picture of the girls with their teacher Mrs Cindy

We went to the Spruce's campground w/my Mom and Grandma after church today for dinner. We roasted hotdogs and smores and enjoyed the wildlife.
I am so excited to do some camping this summer- only 4 more days of school and then we are headed to Palisade State Park!
This moose was just laying down in our campsite when we got there just munching away on some leaves. He couldn't have cared less that we were there. Then after a while he got up and walked across the road. The little potgut was enjoying all the bread that the girls were feeding him and he was coming right up to them. I love being in the mountains and seeing all the wildlife.

Summertime!

We are taking full advantage of the summer (even though our actual summer doesnt start until July 2nd when Katie is FINALLY done with school). Katie has surprised me the last 2 days and asked to ride her bike to school. She doesnt really "love" riding her bike usually so I jumped at the chance and she did GREAT. I kept telling her that she could totally ride without training wheels and she could go so much faster and it would be so much fun. So after school today she decided to finally give it a try.
She would do so good for about 3 feet and then she'd slam on the breaks or put her feet out to stop herself. I was so proud of her for trying. Those of you who know Katie are aware that she is VERY cautious and not very coordinated (is that mean to say about your own child?) She is so good at many other things but balance is not her best talent.
This was us the rest of the day trying to convince her to ride again (she had a small crash). She kept saying she was too scared and she wanted her training wheels back on. So finally just so she would ride her bike we reluctantly put the wheels back on.... =( We'll try again soon!
Brielle on the other hand I've known was ready to learn for a while. So as soon as Katie was giving it a try of course Brielle wanted to go to. And boy did she ever go!!! She took off and hasn't stopped all day. She is a natural. So brave and balanced- Way to go Brielle!!!

Yesterday the girls and I went to the zoo with Greg's parents and my nieces Ella and Lily.
Monday we were invited to swim at Greg's parents pool. We will be spending much more of our summer here, the girls LOVE it!

Dance Recital

Katie and Brielle did so GREAT in their summer recital for C&C Ballet. They have loved doing dance this year and I am so happy to watch them be confident and proud of what they accomplish!

Brielle was all smiles!
I think Katie is a natural dancer. She is so elegant and is a beautiful dancer.

Katie's teacher Miss Warner came to watch Katie and her friend Abby dance. Katie was so excited to invite her and made her a cute card. I am so glad she came, it was the highlight of Katie's day!

10 Amazing Years!

Greg and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on June 17th. He suprised me by arranging his parents to watch the kids for the entire day and night. We had a yummy breakfast with the girls in the morning and then dropped the girls off at his parents. Then he took me shopping (he hates to shop so this was a big deal!) He didnt even complain once while I was trying on all the outfits and showing him every one asking his opinions. Then we went to lunch at Zupas and then more shopping. After we were all shopped out we went to a movie and then had Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. YUMMY!!
We ended our long date by going to Boondocks and racing on the go cart track.
I can't believe we have been married 10 years. I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband who has given me the best gift of an eternal family! I'm looking forward to the next 10 years and longer =)

my summer goal....

since Katie is going to be out of school soon, my new goal is to spend more time doing the girls hair. I used to try really cute things but since we have to hurry and get ready for school, she has lately been wearing a lot of headbands!
I found this cute blog so I'm going to give it a try. I'll post pictures when I get my first hairdo done--- wish me luck!

Arrggh you ready to party?

My niece Ella celebrated her 6th birthday with a pirate princess party. Holly and her sister are so creative and did the cutest decorations and party favors!

Incredible FUN!

Ella turned 6 and to celebrate we met Tyler and Holly at America's Incredible Pizza in Draper.. They just opened recently (located right behind Cowabunga water park). At first I was a little surpirsed at the price but after being their for 4.5 hours... eating at the all you can eat buffet (not to bad) and playing tons of games, miniature golf, bumper cars, jungle gym... and lots of laughs and fun it was really worth every penny!

Dinosaur Museum Field Trip

Miss Warner's Kindergarten class fieldtrip
Katie's kindergarten class had a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum. Katie has loved learning about Dinosaurs and it was really fun to go with her and her class. Allthough I didnt get to ride the bus Greg, Brielle and I drove down and met them there.

Ashton, Rachel, Morgan, and KatieMorgan and Katie were "buddies" on the fieldtrip- it was so fun to take them around together.
Brielle and her friend Allie were lucky enough to come too!

Walk-about

Our ward hosts a walk-about each month. 4-5 families host treats at their home and the everyone walks around and visits. It was our turn to host so we did Cotton Candy which was a HUGE success, especially with the kids!
