1st Grade

I have such mixed feeling about Katie starting first grade. She is excited, so that is good. I want her to spend time with her friends and learn lots.... But, I am do NOT like the idea of having her gone at school more than she is home. She is starting a life were Mommy is no longer the center of it :( It makes me so sad!!! This is such a life change from having your kids so close to you all the time and then turning them over to "the world".
Enough about that.... I really am excited for her though and she is going to do GREAT!!! She is so dang cute and sweet. She is going to make tons of friends and is going to learn a lot this year!

She really wanted her bangs cut so Tiffany fit us in and she looks so different- I really like it but she could be bald and be adorable!
She is 6 (I can't believe it!!!)
She has some kids in her class from last year plus some friends that live really close by so that is good. Her teacher's name is Mrs Fullmer. So far she seems GREAT, I'm looking forward to a really fun year.

Cowabunga

Earlier this summer we bought some discount tickets for Cowabunga Bay and it seems like everytime we tried to use them the weather did not cooperate. We finally found a day, which happened to be 2 days before Katie goes back to school. :( So this is was our last official Summer fun day....
However, it was the PERFECT day for a water park HOT HOT HOT!! I made it through an entire week at Bear Lake without a sunburn and I scorched myself today OUCH!
I had heard some mixed reviews about Cowabunga but I LOVED it. The girls were "barely" big enough to ride all the waterslides and they both rode on every single one. The height requirement to ride the 3 biggest rides is 42" and Brielle is exactly 42". Their favorite part though was the lazy river and beach area. The water is so warm (which felt so good after freezing on the slides) and it was the perfect place to just hang out and relax. I definetly think we will be back next year (if I can get discount tickets) boy are they pricey! :)

Bear Lake 2010

We have been going to Bear Lake ever summer since Katie was born and we look forward to it every year.
We usually just head up for a weekend, but this year we decided to go for the entire week and I LOVED it!! We spent several days just hanging out at the beach, we went for bike rides, and we just relaxed- it was AWESOME!!

Busy week...

Sunday we went to my Dad's cabin and had dinner. It was so nice to see Wilson, we haven't seen him in about a year. It was such a yummy dinner, my Dad is an awesome gourmet cook. Linda made sock puppets with the girls and we took some nature walks. It is so beautiful up there, my Dad's little slice of heaven!

Friday night we left for Cherry Hill to camp and go to the water park. Aaron and Karen Chatlain and their kids Carter and Kyle came with us and we had tons of fun. Saturday, the sun was out in the morning but in the afternoon the weather wasn't the greatest, but we had passes that gave us free mini-golf and other activities so we did some other things like rock climbing and the hamster haven while it sprinkled a little and then when the sun came back out we did the water slides some more.
Addison turned 8 on Friday. She always had fun parties and this year was no exception. They rented this fun waterslide and the kids all loved it!
The weather has been rainy the last week and Wednesday we had planned to go to Cowabunga Bay to use some passes I got earlier in the year. The weather didnt cooperate so since we were all ready to swim we went to the Kearns Oquirrh Fitness Center and swam. The girls were just happy to have their Daddy with them so it was fun! Thursday I met my friend Missy and her kids at the zoo but I forgot my SD card for my camera so I didnt get any pictures. Then we went to her house and played for a few hours with the kids. I wish they didnt live so far away so we could get together more often, the girls LOVE Mia and Lexi and are such GREAT friends for only seeing each other once in a while.

THIS IS IT!! (cross my fingers!)

I may have said this a few times so don't quote me... but I am finally DONE with Katie sucking her fingers!! I just can't imagine sending her to first grade while she is still doing it. So I am on my last and final! (don't quote me later) attempt to get her to stop.

The problem is that Katie doesnt even realize when she is sucking them, and does it constantly! So I've bought a finger guard that will stay on 24 hours a day and she can't take off which should be getting here any day now!

But in the meantime I made my own just to try and help her remember to not suck them, it is working pretty well but its not really practical because she has to take it off all the time because it can't get wet. I just made it out of a pair of gloves, she thinks its pretty cool, so she will actually keep it on =)

I was wanting a picture of Katie and she decided she wanted to "pose" for a few pictures, I LOVE these girls!! They are so cute and can be so much fun, have a mentioned that I am NOT looking forward to 1st grade and having her gone ALL day!!! 3 more weeks of summer!

work and play

Greg started a new job this year and is working for a really great company. His bosses invited everyone to Boondocks on Saturday and then took us out to dinner. It was so much fun to meet all of his co-workers. Its such a different environment not working for family. I think Greg is really enjoying it. Then we got home and decided to go to another drive-in movie. We saw "Despicable Me" It was so cute! We loaded the back of the Envoy with tons of blankets and pillows. I LOVE being with my family, they are so cute and fun!!!

Breanna's Baptism

Breanna was baptized on Saturday. Katie was so excited to go. I think this maybe her first baptism that she can remember (Luke and Chandler were a few years ago) Breanna was so cute and excited and I'm so happy for her!
Picuted above is all the girl cousins: Lilly, Katie, Breanna, Brielle, Ella, and Megan

New car

We said good-bye to "Clifford" the big red truck and said HELLO to our new big red truck. We aren't sure what to call him yet, I voted clifford again but the girls are thinking of something new. They suggested maybe "T-bone" Cliffords friend, we'll see.... I think it kindof sounds like another accident waiting to happen and we DON'T need that! But we love the new car. I found it on KSL in St George and called the girl and come to find out they lived 3 doors away from Ryan, Greg's brother. So it worked out perfect to have them check it out for us and we drove down and back in less than 24 hours to get it. Hopefully this car will be with us a while because I HATE car shopping!

If you plant them (and water, weed, and work)..... they will grow

A few months ago the girls had a fun primary activity where they planted sunflower seeds. They promised the kids that if they took care of them that they would grow to be as tall as their dad. Katie's died (for a while and came back) so its pretty small but Brielle's is HUGE! They were so excited and have been watching it grow all summer.
We have really taken an interest in our yard this year (we'll me I should say) I get up every morning and spend time watering, weeding etc... I really have enjoyed it more than I thought I could, I must get that from my mom. I hope to one day have a yard as pretty as hers. Here are just a few snapshots of my yard.
