Who are you?

My sweet little baby girl has grown up before my eyes today. I didn't realize how much her long hair made her look younger but I think she looks so much older with her new hairdo. She just can't stop smiling she is so happy about it! She just keeps saying that she isn't sure her friends and teacher are going to recognize her tomorrow. Greg teased her when he first saw her and kept saying "who are you??" I think she may have actually thought he couldn't recognize her :)

The last picture makes her look a little sad but I guarantee she is NOT! She can't wait to donate the hair, we are going to mail it off tomorrow :)

For the love of....

I LOVE Katie's long beautiful hair!! I however don't "love" doing it and keeping it styled. Its gotten so long lately it was almost to the bottom of her back. We went to see Tiffany today and I couldnt believe when Katie said she actually wanted her hair cut. I asked Tiff how much hair you would need to donate and she cut off just enough.
I was kindof having a little anxiety (Katie even said "Mom, I don't want you to be sad... but I really think it will look really cute" because I kept saying "Are you sure????").
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! She looks so different. She looks older and she can't stop playing with it, I'm sure it feels great to her.

We are going to donate the hair to Locks of Love. Katie is very excited to be helping a little girl who needs hair. I'm so proud of her for making such a big decision all on her own.

The finished product: So cute!

YAY for a good Day!

It actually got in the 50's today!!! Katie was out of school for MLK day and we had Ella spend the night last night so we decided to head to the ZOO for a fun day. My mom and grandma met us there, and it was so much fun! The weather was GREAT, I can't wait for spring and having more nice days like today.

OK so this is so funny, this Giraff came up to us and I went to snap a picture and he made this really weird sound and threw his head up in the air and about scared poor Ella to death. It only lasted a second and then he went right back to whatever it was that he was doing???

the ONE good thing about 1:00 church

Its been a long time since I've had enough time in the morning to really get the girls ready for church. But, now that church isnt until 1:00 we had time to do curls. They looked so dang cute I had to get some pictures.

Lately everything is feets of strength with Brielle. She thinks she has to show me how she can lift EVERYTHING, including her sister!

HaPPy BirTHdAy BoY!

I LOVE this dog! I can't believe he is 8 years old (56 doggie years). He is getting older and is starting to show signs of his old age. He is getting a little arthritis in his back legs and stumbles when getting up. I can't imagine life without him (albeight it will be less hairy). I can't even think about it =(
Hunter has been the best dog ever! He is so mellow, sweet, loving, loyal, playful, and the best buddy! Besides him getting a little grumpy with other dogs in his old age, and the constant shedding he is the perfect dog. I really don't think I will ever have another pet in all my life that measures up to Hunter.

Happy Birthday Boy!!!!

Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year! I can't believe that 2010 is over, although I won't say I'll miss it terribly. It has been a pretty rough year for me, but at the same time I do feel like we have grown closer as a family and my faith and testimony have grown. I truly know that we could not have made it through the year (especially financially) without our Heavenly Father. Somehow he has helped us make things work and we really have been blessed. Sending Katie to 1st grade has also been a huge struggle for me. I still struggle with having her gone all day and miss her terribly! But she is growing up so much and I am so proud of her!
So I am so excited about 2011 and what the new year has in store for our family! I know there will definetly be struggles and challenges, but we will also be blessed.
We got together with a group of friends at the Paris' this year to celebrate the New Year. We played fun games and laughed a lot!

A competition of Just Dance Kids (or adults)

The kids watching TV... Katie didnt make it to mid-night, but I'm not sure she ever has. She is such a sleeper. She kept begging to go home and go to bed. Brielle on the other hand, enjoyed staying up and infact did not want to go to sleep when we got home at 12:30.
My camera is acting so wierd. I could not get a good picture outside. It was soooooo cold!!

Katie finally woke up and came outside for a minute, but went straight home and to bed.

Here are some of my new years resolutions so that I can remember:

  1. Have a clean kitchen and dishes done before going to bed each night (I did so good at this last year, I think I lasted until February.... this year I hope to last a little longer) I can't believe the impact this has and how much easier it makes keeping the entire house clean when there aren't dirty dishes always stacked in the sink.
  2. read my scriptures every day
  3. pray daily
  4. be more organized, especially relating to my kids activities and things they have to get done.
  5. be more patient and not yell so much at my kids
  6. eat healthier
  7. excerisize more

I think thats enough.... hopefully I can be better and do better in 2011!
