A Little bit of Christmas spirit...

For our 1st FHE in December we decided to head downtown and take in some of the Christmas lights. It was so much fun and really helped to get me in the Christmas Spirit.
I LOVE that they are doing the awesome window displays at ZCMI center downtown. They were pretty cool, and made entirely out of candy!
The lights at Temple Square were so pretty! I'm glad we went when we did. The weather was still pretty mild and the crowds not too busy.

Katie is in the choir for her school. The recently had their Christmas Concert.  Even though it is a little rough to get Katie up early to practice before school it was worth it to hear the fun Christmas songs.

S.Jordan City Christmas Tree Lighting

Holly and Tyler invited us to come with them to the S.Jordan City Tree Lighting. They were supposed to have free ice skating but I guess it wasn't cold enough for ice so we got free hot chocolate and sleigh rides.  We also got to see Santa (again!) Katie was acting a little strange and would NOT tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas. When she was done I asked her what was the matter and she said that she had already told him! She seemed a little confused that he either didnt remember OR that she noticed he wasn't the same Santa we had already seen. I explained that he wasnt the real santa but a helper, because Santa is way too busy to be everywhere. She seemed OK with that. :) Phew!

Jessie did not enjoy Santa either... maybe we shouldnt have pushed our luck with a second visit. Once is enough :)

Save a little... spend a LOT

We went with some friends to the Aquarium on Monday because there was free admission. Jessica LOVED it.  This was really my first outing like this with just her. When Katie was her age we had done lots of things. So it was fun to see how excited and interested in everything she was.

I also had her 15 month checkup earlier that day. She weighs 21.1 lbs and is 32" long. She is in the 25th % for weight and 90th for height.

Katie had her first orthodontist appointment to get her spacers. She will go back in a week to have brackets fitted to her teach and then a few weeks later she will have her expander put in. This will hopefully correct her cross bite. Then a little while after that she will have braced on her top front teeth.  She is kindof excited but nervous. She did great for this appointment... we'll see how the rest go :)

Before...  She has several issues. Her cross bite, and some teeth a pushed a little forward. Her jaw is also a little off center because of the cross bite (as you can see her bottom middle teeth should line up with her top middle teeth) This can not really be fixed- so she will always be a little off center- All a result of her sucking her fingers!! Little stinker!  She also has some low gum lines in the front bottom, which unfortunately will probably have to be fixed surgically by a periodontist. This kid is not going to be cheap :)

St George post Thanksgiving

I can't believe I didnt take a single picture over Thanksgiving. But I  more than made up for it during me and the girls trip to St George for the weekend after to see our dear friends the Paris'. We had so much fun! My Mom drove down with us and Greg stayed home to spend some additional time with his brothers who were in town.

We went to the live Nativity at Tuachan and saw Santa. Jessie wasn't afraid. I thought she would scream. I LOVE this picture.

It was so fun to see the Paris' again. We miss them tons. It was sad to say goodbye again but we will hopefully see them again soon :)

Reflections

Katie recieved a reward for her entry in Reflections. She took a picture of a flower
with snow on it. The theme was "The Magic of a Moment".  Way to go Katie!

1st snowfall

A few weeks ago we got our first showfall of this year. It was a good one... we probably got about a foot. The kids LOVED It! They built a fort with Dad, and Jessica ate as much snow as she could :)  Too bad it didnt last a little longer (it melted in just a few days) now we are back to warmer temps (50-60). Hopefully we get some white stuff for Christmas.

Happy Halloween!

We had a really fun Halloween this year. The weather was perfect (warmest on record 75) for our street potluck dinner and trick-or-treating. Greg and I volunteered in the girls class parties. I went to Katie's and Greg went to Brielle (all of his pictures are on his phone, so I don't know how to put them on here yet).  It was so much fun!! Jessie LOVED getting candy. It didnt take long for her to figure out the drill.

Mrs Humbert 3rd grade class party. We made a spider's web with the entire class and then I was in charge of the Witch Hat toss game. So much fun!
 All ready to go trick-or-treating
Spencer and Maren came along with us..

Brielle wanted to be a vampiress. She looked beautiful... and scary :)
Katie was a world famous baker and Jessie was her prize winning cupcake! So cute :)
