I can't believe Christmas eve is tomorrow!!! We have been trying to squeeze in the last minute fun activities for the Holidays :)
Monday night we went downtown to the Larry H.Miller sing along and then we walked around Temple square. It is one of my favorite Christmas traditions! We have been going to the sing along for a few years (before it became so well known) We used to be able to sit right down on the floor and be just feet away from Larry himself. This year we ended up clear up in the nose bleed section, but it was still fun! The lights at temple square were amazing as usual and the weather was GREAT, then it started to snow a little but it wasn't too bad, it just made everything even more beautiful.
Then on Tuesday Katie had a "sick day" from school and what better thing to do than go sledding? We had some fresh snow and we have a fun new park with some hills by our house. The girls had fun and I'm glad we got to go before the rain the last few days that has made everything super wet!
Katie's class Christmas party was yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up to be room mom, plus community commissioner for PTA (more on that later) but everything seems to all happen at once. So luckily the party went well and I think the kids had fun :)
Part of my responsibilities as community commisioner in the Copper Canyon PTA is to be responsible for the charity drives that the school does. In November we did a food drive for the Utah Foodbank and we collected a lot of food (not sure on the total) Then the month of December we collected warm clothing for the "Share the Warmth" drive and then yesterday we took the donations to the Road Home. I actually really enjoy doing this and especially having my kids be able to be a part of it. We had some good converstions with the kids on the way there and I'm happy that they were able to see some of the people who may benefit from ours and others generosity.
Our truc was FULL of bags of coats, gloves, hats, scarves etc... The students, faculty and parents of Copper Canyon are very generous!
