Halloween 2010

Halloween day came and the girls were tired of dressing up as fairies so they both changed costumes. Katie has been saying she wanted to be a vampire for a while now. I think because she has the perfect teeth for it. And she really started getting into the "scary" part of halloween this year. This is her scary face:
Brielle decided she wanted to be Jessie so she could match her 2 little buddies Woody (Carter) and Buzz Lightyear (Spencer)

The weather didnt really cooperate this year, it was cold and rainy so we only made it around the block once, but the kids had fun anyways!

Copper Hills 14th Ward Halloween Party

Parade and Party

Today was Katie's class party and the school parade. She has such a GREAT teacher and fun class. I have heard of some schools not allowing dressing up at school. I'm so glad that our school is still doing it because the kids just LOVE it and I really enjoyed seeing some of the creative costumes the other students were wearing!

Carving Pumpkins

One of my favorite fall activities is carving pumpkins. This year Brielle designed and carved her pumpkin ALL by herself! I was so amazed, she did a GREAT job!

Katie also designed and carved her pumpkin. She really wanted it to be SCARY- good job Katie!

This is my pumpkin... I got the idea at Disneyland and decided that it would be my pumpkin this year because it was so easy. Greg always goes all out on his pumpkins and spends HOURS carving. In fact I didnt even get a finished picture of it becaused I carved mine and helped with teh kids, then gave them baths and put them to bed and he was still carving.

Nana & Papa's Halloween party

we always love going to Nana and Papa's house for trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. This year they had lots of fun games in the clubhouse and the rain was no match for us getting candy!

Field trip to Macey's

Brielle's preschool had a fun fieldtrip to Macey's grocery store.

We even got to go inside the freezers where they keep the icecream!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks Mrs Emily!

The Pumpkin Patch

side note: I don't know if I will ever get a normal picture of Katie again... everytime she sees a camera in my hand she has to "pose"... silly girl :)

Flaming Gorge

We went to Flaming Gorge this weekend with my Mom. It is so beautiful there! We took some amazing drives and hikes. We saw beautiful geological formations, colorful fall leaves, hieroglyphics, and lots of animals (deer, antelope, big horn sheep). My uncle is opening a restaurant and hotel there and so hopefully we will be back lots next summer and actually get to go out on the lake, it looks amazing!

recent happenings

We started watching my friend Kari's baby a few days a week and my girls couldn't be happier about it. They LOVE to help me and she is so dang cute! We love it :)

Katie was so happy to have UEA break so she could stay home while I had the baby, she hates going to school when she knows there is a baby at home.

Katie wanted to join the choir at Copper Canyon and she has to get up early 1 day a week but she loves it so much she doesnt even complain at all. They had their first performance the other night and it was so fun to watch.

Where are all the colors?

One of my favorite things to do is drive the canyons in the fall looking at all the beautiful colors. This year we went a few weeks ago and it was just not quite ready yet, so we went yesterday after church and it still is not that great. I think this might just be a bad year because so many trees have already dropped their leaves, they just never changed colors! Could it be the unseasonably warm fall we've had??? I'm bummed!
One of the best drives is the Alpine Loop so thats where we went. Since the leaves weren't cooperating we went to Cascading Springs for a hike and that made up for it! It is really pretty up there if you have never been. Worth it and its an easy hike for kids.

check this out

In order to make my playroom look like this....

I had to make my spare room in the basement look like this....
But now the kids have to "check out" toys and bring them back. No more dumping toys in piles and not putting things away.... I hope this works :)
