The tooth fairy made a visit... to our trailer

Nothing like breaking mom in all at once. Not only did I have to send my baby off to kindergarten but then just a few days later, she's loosing her first tooth!!!
She told me about her loose tooth a few weeks ago and for the last week it has just been hanging on by a thread. She was constantly wiggling it and finally on Saturday morning it fell out!!! We were camping but the tooth fairy found us anyways (amazing how that happens!)
me: "what do you think the tooth fairy is going to leave you?"
Katie: "3"
me: "3 what?"
Katie: "3 pennies"
me: (thinking: that would be easy enough!)
"hmmm don't you think your first tooth is worth a little more than that?"
Katie: "yes! How about she brings me a pony"
me: "I don't think ponies would be a good thing to wake up to, under your pillow"
Katie: "well... I guess she can just bring me a hundred, thousand, million dollars then"
me: (thinking... I should have stopped at 3 pennies)
"I guess we will have to wait and see"

Good thing she was happy with a new tooth brush, a letter reminding her to brush her teeth every day and just 3 dollars!

Bear Lake 2009

My mom's friend Coty has invited us to Bear Lake with her family for more years than I can remember and it is always my favorite trip of the summer. Because school started last week we only got to stay for the weekend but it was so fun and luckily the weather turned out good and we spent lots of time at the beach and in the water.

The best part of being at Bear Lake is being with friends! Jen and Marty have come with us the last 3 years and we LOVE it! thanks for coming you guys... plan on next year!
My dad let us borrow his pop-up trailer and his kayak for the weekend. It was so much fun and nice to have both. Thanks Dad!Camping wouldnt be the same for the Jones' if we didnt end up in some kind of hospital or Dr's office. This time Katie had been sick for a day or two but seemed to be getting a little better. On Friday night she started complaining her throat hurt and so a few people took a look and said it looked like Strep throat to them, so we found a community health center and took her in first thing on Saturday and sure enough, STREP! Poor girl, daddy opted to give her the shot of antibiotics that claimed to work super fast and then no 10 days of medicine. It worked great but she couldnt sit on her left butt cheek all weekend. The lady at the candy shop felt sorry for her and gave her a huge sucker for free! That makes it all better!

$2 Tuesday

After school today we went down to Thanksgiving point for the last $2 Tuesday of the summer. We had so much fun walking around the gardens, having lunch, and playing in the water!! Karma (my mother in law) came with us and we met Holly (sister in law) and the girls there and also my friend Megan and her cute boys. Katie was just so excited after school and was so happy all day. I am so happy to see her excited about her class and ready to go back tomorrow.
Katie was so excited to see her friend Ethan. He used to live just down the street and moved a while ago but Katie talks about him all the time. When she saw him she ran over to him and gave him a big hug. They are so cute together!
The Gardens are so pretty, I wish that I could grow flowers and keep them alive!I didn't bring any swimsuits for the kids because it was kindof a cold morning and I didnt think we would want to get wet but when the sun finally came out it warmed up a lot and the kids decided to get VERY wet anyways. It was a lot of fun.

The day has finally come!

(5 years old)
Well its official. My baby is growing up!! It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital, she was just teeny tiny. Now she is so big and going to kindergarten. I was afraid that it would be hard to get her up this morning but she came out on her own all dressed and ready. I think she was just a tad bit excited. Last night we braided her hair so it would be curly and dad gave her a great blessing. I am so grateful that I know that heavenly father has an interest in my children and will watch and protect them when I can't be there. I hope and pray that Katie will love school and have good friends and love her teacher. She is such a sweet, caring, sensitive girl. She is such a joy to be with and I will miss her so much when she is at school. Luckily she is home in just a few hours.

Miss Warner, Katie's teacher. Katie just loves her and has since the moment she met her. I am starting to see why, she is just so genuine and sweet. I am excited for a GREAT year!
Abbie Hall, Katie, and Rachel Hyte. Her friends from preschool (well actually since they were like 1 year old). I am so glad she has some friends that she already knows in her class. They were all so excited to be together and held hands going into the school. So cute!
Brielle was really sad when Katie went into the school. She gave me a big squeeze and said "I want sissy" I almost cried but I didnt! YAY me... so far so good!

Lined up and ready to go into school
Last night with the girls hair all braided

Our temple dedication

We were lucky enough to score tickets to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open house on Friday at the temple. We got there super early so that we could get good seats and ended up sitting on the front row in the chapel. When President Monson and President Uchdorf walked past the chapel on their way to the celestial room they stopped and Pres.Monson talked to a little boy on our row about going on a mission and wiggling his ears. It was awe inspiring to be just feet away from the living prophet. He definetly carries a special spirit with him. When he left he waived at all of us and everyone eagerly waived back. It was really special. Then the dedication took place and it was amazing!!! I LOVE this temple. I am so excited to have it be so close to our house, we can be there in just minutes. I am so glad we have been here for all the building, celebrations, and now the dedication of this amazing temple.

The neatest thing about being able to be there on Friday was that it was Pres. Monsons Birthday!! He is 82 I can hardly believe it! He seems so young still and I hope he has a lot more life left in him. He has always been my favorite apostle, and now prophet!!

Yuba

This weekend had our annual trip to Yuba with Greg's family (well part of his family anyways). DJ and Karma came and Ryan meets us there with his boat and it is always fun to be out on the water. I have to admit though its my least favorite place to camp. We usually just camp right on the beach and I just can't handle all the sand, bugs, stink etc...
This year was no different. The company is always great but the camping not so much!
We got there late on Friday night and then ended up leaving after some boating on Saturday because it started getting really windy and there was a huge sand storm on the beach.
But all and all it was fun to just be with family. Next year though we are picking somewhere different!!

Hunter wanted to jump out of the boat so bad we had to hold on to him the entire time. especially when Greg and the girls were out on the tube, he just whined and whimpered the entire time.
The sand at Yuba is actually pretty grose!!! Its really clay and dirt mixture. Its slimy and stinky. But the girls had fun playing in it!

Katie's Special Day

Well katie is off to school in just a few days so I decided that after her Kindergarten Assessment this morning with her teacher that we would have a fun day together, just the 2 of us. We went shopping for new shoes at the mall and then to Chick-fil-A for lunch! It was so fun just to be with her and talk to her about things she is excited for at school and things she is nervous about. I can't believe my baby is growing up, she is just getting so mature and I really love being able to just hang out and talk to her. What a special little girl she is. She is so kind and loving. She is so optomistic and positive about everything. I pray that she will do GREAT in school and that she will love her teacher and have good friends. When I asked Katie if she was having fun, she would say "YES, but I wish Brielle could be here!" She knew that Brielle would love to be having fun too, what a sweet heart.

She wanted to play at the little dinasaur play area in the mall, she has gotten so much more adventureous lately. And wanted me to take her picture of her climbing and balancing on everything.

Farm Country

This month every Tuesday is $2 to any venue at Thansgiving Point. So we went to Farm Country today with some friends. My girls had so much fun... here are some highlights!

Family Matters

I have the cutest best Grandma in the entire world. She has been such a huge part of my life since I was in high school when she moved in with our family. Since I've been married and had kids I see her almost every Friday. I have LOVED this time to be with her and would do almost anything for her. Which brings me to the last 4 days.

My Grandma has been planning a huge family reunion with her cousins for months and months with her sisters. It is all she talks about and she has been so excited for it. So on Friday we had the Frint Family reunion which is my Grandma and her siblings (Marla,Shirley,DeAnn, and Ramon) and families. We went to the park by DeAnn's house. Grandma loves to play with the kids and is always making sure the kids have things to do. She loaded up my moms SUV with tons of toys, bikes, etc... and then she played the games with them. She's almost 80- it's amazing that she is still so active.

Katie and KenelleYummy food! My cousin Tiffany taking more than her share (she said she was sharing... yeah right!)The kids playing at the park..

Then on Saturday was my Grandmas big "Cousin Reunion" that she has been planning with her sisters for months. She has been so excited and obsessed with the reunion planning and preperation. And it all paid off. She had me come to video tape the families so they can make a DVD for all the cousins. Our family is a little mixed up because my great-great-grandpa was polygamist who married sisters. Then he had twins (who one of them was my great-grandma). It gets confusing. But I think I sortof get it a better now that I had a chance to actually meet some of the family.

We tried to re-create the same picture that was taken of the family in 1946
My great-grandma Nora and her twin Dora both had red hair and so my cousins twin daughters wore read wigs and both red poems that Nora and Dora had written. One about having red hair and one about being a twin. It was cute. Good job Kaycie and Kelcie.

Then on Sunday my cousin Randy had a birthday party for his son Riley and so we went there and had cake and ice-cream. And then on Monday we went to say goodbye to my cousin's daughter Taylor who is going to college in a few days (crazy!!!). So we had a fun filled 4 days with family and my Grandma loved every bit of.. Family matters most to her and that's what I love about her!

"Currant" Events

While we were camping (see previous post) the girls loved riding their bikes around the campground. Brielle is always a little crazy on her scooter/bike and so I am always afraid she is going to get hurt. Well on Saturday morning she was riding her scooter and all the sudden I hear loud screams and when I see her running towards me she is gushing blood out of her mouth. What a scary moment I thought for sure she had knocked out all her teeth. What happened was her tooth actually went through her lip. OUCH!!! So we took a trip to the emergency room in Heber and then returned camping. She is doing good but she got 2 internal stitches and 4 external that have to be removed on Thursday.

This picture breaks my heart she was so brave but I'm sure she was really hurting. Poor thing!!!
Right after the stitches.
This picture was taken after we got home.. she was pretty swollen. She loosk like a little chipmunk carrying food in her cheeks.

I'm half expecting to get a visit from child services. Poor kid I'm not sure if it is just total crazyness on her part or bad parenting on mine. I can't handle any more mishaps (especially with her face!!!)
